The San Diego Beaches

After you get a pair of sunglasses, you will be ready to hit one of San Diego’s thirty-three beaches. With seventy miles of coast-line and year round sunshine, San Diego is the perfect destination for a beach day.

You could start your day off in La Jolla, known as the jewel of San Diego. There you can take a kayaking tour and explore its clear waters and many caves. Then you can head a little south to Mission Beach where there are countless beach rentals, which offer surfboards, bikes, and stand-up paddleboards.

A Piece of History in San Diego

Hotel Del is a luxurious beachfront hotel that was opened in 1887 and is the second largest wooden structure in the United States. It is also considered a National Historical Landmark. It has been the hotel for numerous presidents and celebrities, it is a must see.

While in Coronado be sure to check out the Coronado Summer Concert series and the Art-in-the-park event. Listen to music, enjoy a picnic, and browse local artwork in a beautiful setting.

The Gaslamp Quarter

Another place to check out while in San Diego is the Gaslamp Quarter. You can stroll the historical sixteen and a half blocks in the heart of downtown San Diego. The Gaslamp quarter is known to be the old stomping grounds of the legendary Wyatt Earp.

This area is home to countless restaurants and bars. In these restaurants you will often find interesting dishes, incredible drinks, live music, and dancing. While walking you will come across some of San Diego’s oldest historical restored Victorian buildings.

Don’t feel like walking? Board a trolley tour that will take you up and down the streets of Downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp Quarter. At the end of it all you can buy a ticket it to a San Diego Padres game in Petco Park that is in the Gaslamp area.
If you’re looking for a great steakhouse while you’re in the Gaslamp Quarter, there are many to choose from such as Greystone the Steakhouse and Donovan’s Steakhouse. San Diego also offers some of the finest Italian Cuisine as well as fish right out of the Pacific Ocean. When it comes to food, the Gaslamp Quarter has a variety to choose from.
