About Auckland Whale & Dolphin Safari:

Experience the incredible marine-life of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park with New Zealand’s only research-based marine mammal experience. Whales, Dolphins and Sea-birds viewed year-round with important Marine Biology research also conducted on-board.  Departs 12:30 pm daily from Auckland Maritime Museum, Viaduct Harbour.

4.5 hour Marine Eco-Safari Tour

Experience the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine Park during a 4.5 hour marine eco-safari on our purpose-built vessel the ‘Dolphin Explorer’.

Things to bring:

Warm clothes, shower-proof jacket, sun hat & sunscreen, camera, binoculars, personal medication (if required), sea-sickness medication (should be taken prior to trip).

Available on board: 

A small range of snacks and food including water, juice, soft-drinks and beer & wine are available on board for purchase. Please do not bring your own alcohol on board.

Restrictions: 

Not suitable for heavily pregnant women. No wheelchair access is available on the boat. Anyone with physical disabilities that require human intervention must be accompanied by their caregivers/support people. Children under 5yrs are suitable for the trip only if CLOSELY supervised by a parent or caregiver.

Auckland Whale & Dolphin Safari:

Voyager Maritime Museum, Quay Street, Viaduct Harbour

Tours depart daily at 12:30pm from the Viaduct Harbour in down-town Auckland city. All passengers are please asked to check in at Voyager Maritime Museum no later than 12:15pm prior to the tour departing. One of our friendly guides will then lead you on the short walk to board.

Directions: 

Viaduct Harbour is located at the western end (left as you are looking at the water) of Quay Street in down-town Auckland. Upon arrival by foot you will need to look for the Voyager Maritime Museum entrance on your right immediately after the large ‘KZ1’ yacht.
