Places to Stay in London

If you’ve ever been to London you now there are three different types of hotels in London. The first are the sort you find celebrities hanging out at the lobby and champagnes corks keep popping every few minutes in the bar. The second are the boutique hotels that offer clean and exquisitely decorated rooms, that, while tiny, are a great way to feel pampered and get a good night’s sleep. Then there is the simple budget hotel. You have to be careful with these. Some of them are no better than roach motels and yet can cost you as much as a boutique hotel.

Expensive Hotels in London

There are a number of hotels in London that are top notch and can cost more than a month’s salary for the average person. While those hotels are great to visit and maybe splurge on high tea on the weekend, they are not practical all the time. But do not despair, even the best of the hotels adhere to one simple rule, and that is an empty room generates zero revenue. This makes every hotel, even the expensive ones think very hard about leaving the rooms empty, and they will beat any price to get it occupied. The best times to get a good deal are when they are in their low season, and on Sunday nights. If you’re lucky even something like the Claridge can be experienced for around $500 per night.

Budget Hotels

There are budget hotels in London that are amazing, especially when you are getting in and out in a hurry for a quick face-to-face meeting with clients. It doesn’t really matter where you sleep, as long as the rooms are tidy, the pillow is fluffy and the shower is clean. For these kind of needs, there are the likes of the Tune Hotels and for something that you can find in the heart of London, you will realize that you can stay a week here for the amount of money it would otherwise cost you to stay a night in a major hotel.

Roach Motels

Yes. There are these too and don’t thumb your nose at these just yet. Some of these hotels in London are in pretty poor condition and yet seem to charge quite a bit. They’re condition is only made worse by poor service and even poorer amenities. But be certain that if you are  a frequent traveller you will find yourself one day within their four walls because they are the last to get fully booked and if you have a last minute, peak season, mid-week stay over, you’re not going to find any other alternative.

So keep your wits about you as you navigate the hotel guide and always be on the lookout for a bargain. Here is a round up of three viable options. Aside from the these hotels in London, you might want to also consider renting out someone’s flat by going online and you will find it a cheap alternative.
