If you are heading to Mexico, a Playa del Carmen excursion is a must. Located on the Caribbean sea, this once small fishing village is now a holidaying hotspot that won’t disappoint. Here are the top 10 things to do on during your Playa del Carmen excursion:

  1. Hire a Boat – There are many charter companies in the region that will rent you a boat for a day both with and without a captain. Taking a boat out for the day is the best way to explore the coast and see the many islands in the area. You can also rent fishing and snorkelling gear to make the most of your time on the sea.
  1. Shopping – Playa del Carmen truly is a shopping Mecca. Avida Quinta is the main shopping area and is made up of hundreds of small shops selling an array of goods. Bargaining here is expected, so it’s a good place to pick up some cheap souvenirs.
  1. Aktun Chen – Aktun Chen wildlife park is made up of lush jungle and is a great place to spot spider monkeys. The main attraction is the underground caves where you have the chance to walk around and see the beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations close up.
