Top Tropical and Island Getaways in the United States

Sanibel Island

Sanibel Island is found off the western coast of Florida, and it is one of the most popular island destinations in the state. Nature lovers will thoroughly enjoy the J.N. “Ding Darling” National Wildlife Refuge and Bird Sanctuary, as well as the beaches.

This island is great for family getaways, but it is also renowned as a romantic destination for couples, so don’t be surprised if you run into a lot of weddings and honeymooners during your stay. Cumberland Island

Hawaii

No list of tropical destinations in the United States would be complete without mentioning the gorgeous islands of the state of Hawaii. And with so many pristine islands to choose from, you may consider island hopping while you are there to take in as much of the state as possible.

Two notable destinations include Waikiki Beach, which is located in Honolulu, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, found on the Big Island, where you can explore the active volcano, Kilauea.

Key West

Key West is yet another famous island in Florida. It is the westernmost island in a chain of islands off the southern coast, and you can easily drive to it from the mainland.
