DAY 1: Cusco – Huayllabamba
The first day of the Inca Trail we will pick you up from the hotel/hostel around 7.00 am and we will go by private bus to the place called the Km. 82. Here we will start the trekking to the archaeological complex of Llactapata. Along the way we will see different archaeological sites also interesting fauna and flora. You will also have possibility to admire the beautiful snowy peak of Veronica. We will arrive to the base camp around 5.30 pm.
DAY 2: Huayllabamba – Pacaymayo
This day you will start with the sounds of birds and surrounded by lush nature. First part you will go uphill about 4 hrs until the highest point (Warmiwañusca 4,200 m.a.s.l.). Here you can admire spectacular views and have the opportunity to observe different ecosystems. Later the Inca Trail changes and passes through ancient stone roads, tunnels and wooden bridges. Your camping will be near the river.
DAY 3: Pacaymayo – Wiñayhuayna
After breakfast you will start the descent towards the second most important pass of the trail at 3,950 m.a.s.l. Today you will explore the archaeological complex of Runkurakay and the Inca city of Sayacmarca. Later we will stop in the village of Puya Patamarka for typical lunch and after a break you will continue walking for around 2 hrs more to reach the impressive archaeological complex of Wiñay Huayna. Close to this place, we will have a camp. After dinner you can enjoy an evening full of stars.
DAY 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu – Cusco
After breakfast around 5.00 am we will walk around 1-2 hours till the Inti Punku (Sun Gate), from where you will have the most impressive view of Machu Picchu. After passing the entrance to Machu Picchu you will have a guided tour for around 2 hours. You will feel like in the times of Incas. You will see the most important places in the archeological complex, as well as you will get plenty of information about history and culture of Inca Empire. After this part you will have enough time to discover Machu Picchu and also additional mountain Huayna Picchu. You will come back to Cusco after midnight.
