2015 AILA Annual Conference On Immigration Law – American Immigration Lawyers Association will happen on June 17-20, 2015 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Centre in National Harbor, MD.
The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is the national association of more than 13,500 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law. AILA member attorneys represent U.S. families seeking permanent residence for close family members, as well as U.S. businesses seeking talent from the global marketplace. AILA members also represent foreign students, entertainers, athletes, and asylum seekers, often on a pro bono basis. Founded in 1946, AILA is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that provides continuing legal education, information, professional services, and expertise through its 39 chapters and over 50 national committees. AILA’s Annual Conference, the largest annual gathering of the immigration law community, is the can’t-miss opportunity to stay up to date on the latest trends in immigration law. This year, the information-filled CLE* program includes over 145 substantive sessions in fundamentals, intermediate, advanced, and masters-level tracks. View the Day-At-A-Glance. The conference also offers important networking opportunities, including a Grand Opening Gala, Presidents Reception, Annual Awards Presentation, AILA trainings, a lively closing party; and a conference exhibit hall offering a convenient, efficient way to hear first-hand from vendors about the latest tools, technology, and services.

The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center is a large hotel and convention center located in National Harbor, in the U.S. state of Maryland. It is owned by Gaylord Hotels, a division of Ryman Hospitality Properties (formerly known as Gaylord Entertainment Company), and operated by Marriott International. The hotel, located in the Oxon Hill community in Prince George’s County, Maryland, opened April 1, 2008, serving as the anchor of a new mixed-use (office, residential, and retail) development in National Harbor. It is the largest non-gaming hotel and convention center on the East Coast of the United States.
With thousands of people traveling to National Harbor for the convention, finding a good hotel room can be tough. The Association has negotiated a special group rate at the Gaylord National Resort, but smart travelers can find several other nearby hotel options that are significantly less expensive. The nearby Comfort Inn Oxon Hill is currently selling rooms from $119 per night – more than a 50% savings over the group hotel and only slightly over a mile away from the venue. If you want to explore Washington D.C., the Hilton Alexandria Old Town has rooms starting at $249 per night (the same as the Gaylord Resort group rate), and is right off the D.C. Metro yellow line, giving you easy access to everything that Washington D.C. has to offer. You can find even more options nears the event at EventBlocks, which has a full page full of great nearby hotels.
