Hike 2 Active Volcanoes in One Day: Volcano Surf and See Lava!
Cerro Negro Volcano
Enjoy a rush of adrenaline hiking and sliding down an active volcano. #2 on CNN’s “50 Ways to Be a Daredevil” list, Cerro Negro Volcano is the only place in the world where you can sand board an active volcano. In addition to a moderate 30-45 min. hike to the crater, you will have an opportunity to take pictures of amazing, panoramic views. You will board to the bottom (standing or sitting) in 1 or 2 minutes (possibly less).
Telica Volcano Sunset
Give yourself the opportunity to see lava and to hear the roaring sounds of an active volcano. Departing from Leon at 3:00 pm, you’ll have a 2 hour drive inside Telica volcano. Enjoy the power of nature after a 60 min. challenging hike. Not only is this one of the most impressive views of all of Nicaragua but it also offers one of the best sunsets in the entire country. Head back around 7:00 pm on our hike down and be back in Leon by 9:00 pm or before.
